SIX Restaurant is open at these times:

Lunch
Wednesday to Saturday, 12.00pm – 2.00pm

Dinner:
Tuesday to Saturday, 17:30 until 23:00 (last table reservation at 20:45)
Sunday 12.00pm – 5.00pm (last table reservation 3:45)
Closed Monday (available to hire)

We’re situated on the Quayside in Gateshead, a 10-15 minute walk from Gateshead Town Centre and Newcastle City Centre. Pedestrians can walk to us from the Newcastle Quayside over the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

If you choose to drive, parking spaces are available in the Baltic Car Park behind our building. Follow Signage for ‘Gateshead Quays’ and ‘Other Car Parks’ until specific signage becomes visible.

Newcastle Central Station is our closest train station.

The nearest Metro stops are Newcastle Central Station or Gateshead Metro Interchange.

Enter the Baltic art gallery through the main doors on the Gateshead side of the Millennium Bridge. Once inside, proceed directly to the reception area where our receptionist will guide you to the lifts straight ahead, opposite the entrance. Simply press the button for SIX, and we’ll be there to welcome you. Alternatively, you can take the stairs.

Available menu experiences are:

  • A la Carte lunchtime menu
  • ‘Taste of SIX’ is a seasonal six or nine-course tasting evening menus, available in either Land & Sea or Plant formats.
  • Chef’s Table is available for lunch and dinner, maximum 4 guests servd the ‘Taste of SIX’ nine course tasting menu.
  • The Viewing Box and Bar Area offers a small and sharing plates menu, popular with guests enjoying cocktails and bar drinks.

 

Our menus change regularly to reflect the season and availability of quality local produce. 

When you book, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements so that you can be sure we will be well prepared to deliver the best dining experience to accommodate your requirements.

We accept reservations by phone, WhatsApp, through our website, or on OpenTable. Walk-ins are welcome at any time, but reservations are recommended for peak hours to guarantee a table.

To reserve your table we ask for a £XX deposit per person, which will automatically be taken off your final bill.

Absolutely! Our lunch menu offers child-friendly options, as well as smaller plates available on our bar menu. We also offer a dedicated children’s menu during Sunday lunch service and high chairs for our youngest diners.

No, we do not. SIX prides itself on offering a dining experience which must be enjoyed in the restaurant to be fully appreciated.

Yes, we have a variety of options to accommodate most dietary preferences, including our six or nine course tasting menu in plant format. Please let your server know of any dietary restrictions.

Yes we can cater for most food allergies. If any of your party has an allergy, please let us know when you book to ensure we can deliver a delicious menu that accommodates your needs.

While we follow safety guidelines, please note that all our dishes are created in a kitchen environment where allergens will be prepared and cooked. We cannot therefore promise that the restaurant is allergen free.

Yes, we have on-site parking at the Baltic Car Park on South Shore Road, payable on exit.

SIX Baltic is fully accessible for anyone needing wheelchair access and has a disabled toilet on the sixth floor, too. Please let us know upon booking whether you or any of your party will require wheelchair access.

Yes, in our Viewing Box and Bar Area we have a full bar with a curated wine list, craft beers, and signature cocktails. This is very popular with guests for enjoying drinks with friends while enjoying the incredible views over the Quadside.

We do not allow pets, but assistance dogs are welcome.

Yes, we offer private dining and catering services for events. Please contact us for more information and availability.

We kindly ask that you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. No-shows may be subject to a fee during peak hours.
