Located overlooking the vibrant Quayside, SIX Rooftop sits within the cultural heart of Gateshead, at the top of the iconic Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.
Based on the top floor of the former flour mill, SIX Restaurant combines its culinary origins with a creative approach to bring memorable and elevated dining experiences within an iconic rooftop welcoming environment.
INNOVATIVE MENU CREATIONS
Overlooking the bustling Quayside with breathtaking views across the city of Newcastle, the modern British menu reflects a fundamental passion for seasonal, local produce, with sustainability at its core.
Listed in the Michelin guide for 2024 and 2025 and awarded 2 AA rosettes, SIX Rooftop’s menu is expertly curated by food director Greg Lambert, with his emphasis on creativity, and is updated regularly.
Diners can relax and savour the spacious and refined restaurant while experiencing one of the flagship ‘Taste of SIX’ tasting menus. Equally, visitors can enjoy the unique encounter of the magnificent vista from our Viewing Box and bar area, where more casual small plates and sharing dishes are served in sleek, comfortable surroundings.

Since opening its doors in 2009, SIX Rooftop has built a reputation as a successful premium restaurant, known for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
In late 2023, SIX Rooftop was acquired by Pneuma Hospitality Group. This marked the beginning of a bold new chapter for the restaurant, driven by a commitment to innovation and elevated hospitality.
Following an extensive investment and a complete refurbishment, SIX Rooftop underwent a stunning transformation. The newly designed dining space reopened in March 2024, offering guests a refined and contemporary atmosphere.
